Applicant must

  • Have a background in boarding, with an understanding of boarding regulations and legislation
  • Support the school philosophy and values
  • Have exceptional people skills
  • Be warm and outgoing with the ability to listen
  • Be positive, enthusiastic and hard working
  • Have experience in dealing with young people and able to do so effectively
  • Have empathy for a range of backgrounds of students, including international students
  • Be able to balance the need for firmness in policy and procedures while being consistently fair and reasonable
  • Have the experience and skills to manage and motivate staff
  • Have good written and oral skills
  • Have administrative and organisational strengths

Job Scope

  • Manage students within the Boarding House
  • Ensure that students are managed in a professional manner so that the House operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Oversee the physical, cultural, social, intellectual and emotional developments of the students within the Boarding House.
  • Ensure students' admission to the Boarding House is managed efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure the Boarding house complies with health and safety procedures, is  well maintained and presented in an attractive way
  • Familiarises the boarders with the Boarding House expectations regarding conduct and ensures that they are adhered to
  • Acts in an appropriate and timely manner when misconduct occurs
  • Prepare boarders reports for submission to the Head of Boarding
